STUDENT PARKING AND DRIVING POLICIES
PARKING WILL BE ASSIGNED BY SPOT NUMBERS. THE PERMIT
NUMBER YOU RECEIVE WILL MATCH YOUR PARKING SPACE NUMBER.
1. Your parking PERMIT will be issued by a Staff Member only.
2. A valid operator's license must be held by all students driving and parking on the school site.
3. The student must have insurance on self and motor vehicle.
4. The speed limit on school grounds is 10 mph. All vehicles will follow the proper directions, signs and
indicated arrows on the roadway or lose parking privileges.
5. School Board Policy #5307: "The Board shall not be responsible for damage to automobiles or other
vehicles which are parked or operated on school property." REPORT ANY DAMAGE IMMEDIATELY
TO SECURITY.
6. At no time may a student park in the faculty parking lot. Violators WILL be fined; vehicles may be towed,
and possible loss of parking PERMIT.
7. Students are not to sit in cars parked in the parking lot during the school day. Loitering in the lot will not
be permitted. THIS INCLUDES LUNCH PERIODS.
8. Parking must be in the AUTHORIZED STUDENT PARKING AREA ONLY.
9. Parking on the grass or "double parking" is not allowed (illegal parking).
10. Valuables should not be left in vehicles. All vehicles should be locked for security.
11. Student vehicles may be subject to search if there are reasonable grounds to believe that drugs, alcohol,
stolen property, weapons, or other contraband might be present in that vehicle.
12. All vans MUST have curtains or blinds left open.
13. Parking permits are NOT TRANSFERABLE to another student's vehicle (illegal use of a permit).
14. Students must use due care and respect for others in the operation of their vehicles.
15. Since the parking and operation of student vehicles on campus is a privilege, violations of any of the
student parking policies will result in the following:
A. $10.00 fine (mandatory).
B. Loss of parking and operation privilege (after two violations).
C. Citations by police.
D. Removal of violating vehicle by tow truck.
E. Other disciplinary action as specified in the STUDENT CONDUCT AND
DISCIPLINE CODE book.
16. Student parking will be limited to SENIORS only on a first come first serve basis. This limitation is due to
the size of the Senior Class. There is a $80.00 registration fee due when the application is submitted.
17. Students who do not maintain a 2.0 GPA, cut class, and/or have discipline problems are subject to
revocation of parking permit.
18. All vehicles must park with their front facing the wheel stops (or be ticket for illegal parking).
19. Replacement/temporary permits should be taken care of before driving the vehicle to school.
AFTER SENIORS ARE PROVIDED PARKING, ANY AVAILABLE SPACE WILL BE PROVIDED ONLY TO JUNIORS
THAT ARE ENROLLED IN DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAMS AND MUST LEAVE SCHOOL EARLY TO MEET
THEIR COURSE REQUIREMENTS. NO OTHER UNDERCLASS STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARK ON
CAMPUS UNLESS APPROVED BY THE PARKING COMMITTEE
